The weather will be typically good and the atmosphere lively.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of the most important religious celebrations in Seville, with a long tradition and deep devotion among young and old alike. This festival commemorates the Eucharist and is considered<strong>\u00a0the city&#039;s grand procession<\/strong>, with representation from the authorities, the clergy, and the various religious and civil institutions.<\/p>\n<p>It is celebrated next<strong>\u00a0Thursday<\/strong>, June 20th is a public holiday. The city is decorated for the occasion and sets up in the <strong>San Francisco Square<\/strong>\u00a0An altar with two large commemorative arches. During the afternoon, you can freely visit the Cathedral to see the monstrance and the different floats used in the procession, and attend concerts or street performances in various locations throughout the center.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3103 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cultureaexperience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/corpus-sevilla-visita.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"644\" height=\"362\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cultureaexperience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/corpus-sevilla-visita.jpg 644w, https:\/\/cultureaexperience.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/corpus-sevilla-visita-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 644px) 100vw, 644px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"ladillo\">Processional monstrance<\/h2>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>It was commissioned by Canon Francisco Pacheco on behalf of the Cathedral Chapter to<b>\u00a0Juan de Arfe <\/b>in 1580<b>.\u00a0<\/b>He described it as &quot;the largest and finest piece of silver of its kind known.&quot; The monstrance has a circular base and four sections, the first three featuring Ionic, Corinthian, and Roman columns.
